Youth Athletes

Keep Your Young Athlete Healthy, Confident, and Game-Ready

If your high‑school athlete is dealing with pain, tightness, or nagging issues that keep coming back, our job is simple: find the real reason they hurt, restore clean movement, and build them back stronger so they can stay on the field, the court, or the track.

Common Youth‑Sport Problems We Help

  • Concussions & Safe Return‑to‑Play: Step‑by‑step progressions with provider oversight. No shortcuts.
  • Runner’s injuries: Shin splints, IT band, foot/ankle pain. We clean up mechanics, build capacity, and pace training volume.
  • Motion‑based shoulder/throwing pain: Shoulder, elbow, overhead patterns. Restore range, strengthen what stabilizes, then build throwing‑specific control.
  • Knee pain in sport: Patellar, meniscus, ACL‑related issues.   We address hip/core control, landing/decels, and sport patterns.
  • Low back & hip pain in athletes: We prefer flexion distraction (gentle, up‑and‑down table‑based movement) over spinal decompression. It helps restore motion without the problems we see from decompression.
  • Neck, headache & TMJ in sport: Calm irritated joints and tissue, then reinforce with targeted exercise.

What Treatment Looks Like At Empower

You’ll see why we’re not an assembly-line clinic.

We’ll start with a movement and mobility assessment, then use targeted hands-on care to restore motion and calm irritation like chiropractic adjustments, Active Release Technique, Graston/IASTM, and cupping. We’ll then finish with corrective exercise so the change sticks in real movement.

For stubborn, chronic extremity issues, we may add SoftWave/Shockwave, a non-invasive modality Dr. Croskey uses because it drives blood flow and metabolic activity and reaches deep structures (shoulder/hip/labrum-level depth) without needles or surgery.

Most youth injuries still respond well to conservative care.  When we load patterns correctly, supervised resistance training is safe and beneficial for teens.
