Dr. Jared Croskey, DC, ATC, GTS

Team Chiropractor for Georgia Tech Football · Owner, Empower Sports Chiropractic

Meet Dr. Croskey

I’m Dr. Jared Croskey. I help active people move well, get out of pain, and perform with confidence. My background blends three things that work well together: chiropractic care, performance-based physical therapy, and precise soft-tissue treatment. I serve as the team chiropractor for Georgia Tech Football, and I bring that same standard of care to every patient here in Cumming.  You don’t have to be a varsity athlete to be treated like one.

Education & Credentials

  • Doctor of Chiropractic, Life University (2021) — Summa Cum Laude
  • B.S., Athletic Training, University of Georgia (2018)
  • B.S., Exercise Science, University of Georgia (2018)
  • Graston Technique Specialist (GTS)
  • Active Release Technique (ART) Provider

At UGA, I worked with football, softball, and women’s tennis, learning sideline care, return-to-play progressions, and how sport-specific movement works in the real world.

Sports Medicine Background

Before becoming a chiropractor, my focus was on sports medicine, with an emphasis on football and baseball. I’ve worked with UGA Athletics, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Gwinnett Stripers (AAA).

Those experiences shaped my belief that everyone, athlete or not, deserves world-class care and a straightforward plan.

Current Role: Team Chiropractor, Georgia Tech Football

As the team chiropractor for Georgia Tech Football, I collaborate with athletic trainers, PTs, and strength coaches year-round. I assess, treat, and travel with the team in-season so care stays consistent from the training room to game day.

Clinical Approach

  • Chiropractic adjustments. A safe, precise movement to a joint that isn’t moving well. The “pops” you hear are just gas releasing from the joint. Afterward, most people notice a better range of motion, improved blood flow, less pain, and a nervous system shift from “fight or flight” to a calmer “rest and digest.”

  • Active Release Technique (ART). A focused pin-and-stretch. I shorten the muscle/tendon/ligament, apply specific pressure, then take it through full range, especially the end range, where your body relaxes the most. It restores clean joint motion and reduces that tight, “grabby” feeling.

  • Graston (instrument-assisted soft-tissue). Stainless-steel tools help find and treat stubborn, very local issues (think elbow, knee, plantar fascia). We warm the area, treat with light, targeted “strumming,” and then load it with the right exercises because tissue changes under load.

  • Cupping (mostly dynamic). Goal: old blood out, new blood in. I scan and glide to find hot spots, may set a cup briefly, and have you move through range while the cups are on to drive circulation. Most people leave with easier motion and less stiffness.

  • Shockwave (Sonuwave/Softwave). Non-invasive sound waves that reach deep, about 5 to 5.5 inches, so we can treat tough spots in the extremities (foot/ankle, knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, chest wall). It boosts blood flow and tissue activity to support repair. We primarily use it for chronic injuries.

  • Corrective exercise. We’re a rehab-heavy clinic. No generic band sheets. You’ll get a tailored, progressive plan that fits how you train and live, so the changes we make actually hold up when you lift, run, and play.

  • My stance on spinal care. I prefer flexion distraction (gentle, controlled up-and-down movement) and do not offer spinal decompression (expand/retract). In my experience and based on current research, flexion distraction gets results without the downsides some people run into with decompression.

Outside the Clinic

When I’m not working with patients or on the sidelines, I enjoy time with my wife, Abbey, and our pets, Ares and Lena. Quiet evenings, family time, and reading murder/mystery novels help me recharge so I can bring focused energy and attention to every visit.

What to Expect with Dr. Croskey

  • A clear exam you can understand: what hurts, what’s tight/weak, and why
  • Hands-on care paired with the right movement for your goals and schedule
  • A between-visits plan so you keep improving (not just feeling good for a day)
  • Low-volume, longer sessions—no rushing, no assembly line

Whether you’re an athlete, a weekend warrior, or simply want to move without pain, you’ll be treated like a professional, because your goals deserve that level of care.
