Active Release Technique (ART)

Free Up “Sticky” Movement Fast With Targeted, Hands‑on Care

What Is ART And How Does It Work?

ART is a focused, hands‑on “pin‑and‑stretch” method to free tight tissue so your joints move the way they should.

  1. We’ll find a tight spot in a muscle, tendon, ligament, or nearby tissue.
  2. We’ll shorten that tissue and apply precise pressure with the hand.
  3. You actively move through the motion we cue.

You’ll notice less “grab,” and a calmer nervous system, which makes motion feel natural again.

What Conditions Can ART Help?

We reach for ART when you’ve got:

  • Recurring shoulder or hip tightness
  • “Grabby” hamstring or calf under load
  • Plantar fasciitis and stubborn foot/ankle pain
  • Tennis elbow/golfer’s elbow
  • Neck or low‑back stiffness from sitting, lifting, or sport
  • “Pinchy/zingy” sensations from irritated soft tissue
  • Post‑sprain/strain mobility limits

Many people feel lighter and looser in session one. For chronic or sport‑specific issues, we’ll map a short plan and give a simple home routine so gains hold up when you train.
